About the NCSSM
The North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics accepts Sophomores from high schools throughout North Carolina. It is a public, residential, co-ed program that offers high school education at the college level. It was established by the NC General Assembly in 1978 to provide challenging education for students with special interests and potential in the Sciences and Mathematics. Emphasis of study at NCSSM is on Science and Math mainly, although Humanities is very very strong as well. Students gain invaluable hands-on experience in a University environment, which helps them adapt to rigorous University curricula and lifestyles when they go to the University of their choice after graduation. The challenging curriculum and unique environment attract the state's most accomplished young minds. The enrollment standards are demanding, yet designed to ensure a student body that is creative, energetic and committed to taking on more than the status quo.
NCSSM students are considered some of the finest high school students in the country. For example:
Five members of the Class of 2006 were awarded the Park Scholarship from NC State, the university's most coveted scholarship, totaling 10 Park Scholars in two years. Additionally, two members of the Class of 2006 were named Morehead scholars at UNC-Chapel Hill. Three students won the Morehead from the Class of 2005.
For the fifth year in a row, NCSSM sent the most number of semi-finalists to the Siemens-Westinghouse Competition.
NCSSM students once again boasted the highest average SAT score in the state. What makes this more remarkable is that the scores are received upon our students taking the test as Sophomores and thus compared to scores received across the state by seniors.
Most importantly, an NCSSM graduate's chance of getting admission to any NC state school is around 90%, and once admitted, their tuition fees are paid for through guaranteed scholarships!

guidance, hardwork and motivation.There are no other programs which are
tuned for admission to NCSSM. We expect our limited seats to rapidly
fill up. Remember - NCSSM graduates have 80-90% success rate at UNC
Chapel Hill, and around 90% for other NC campuses. Besides, securing an
admission at NCSSM is basically a prestigious 6 year financial ride (2
years at NCSSM and 4 years in the university), and an average smart

We offer a comprehensive Test Prep and Educational Counseling package for dramatically improving your chances for admission to NCSSM. Students in grade 8, Freshmen, and Rising Sophomores are eligible for admission in our program. The package includes:
1. Initial 1 Hour consultation, followed by unlimited email and phone support.
2. High School Course Selection and Curriculum Guidance.
3. Career Decision-making and Major Selection at NCSSM.
4. TWO SAT Prep Courses - first SAT Prep will be in a group environment for 40 hours (October SAT), and the second SAT Prep will be 15 hours of one-on-one tutoring (November/December SAT).
5. Help with application preparation to NCSSM.
