Besides helping out with preparation for SAT/PSAT/ACT, we also assist students with college guidance, career planning, college application, and scholarship search and application. We start with eighth graders and higher.
We meet with the student and his/her family once in the spring of the eight grade year to assist with explanation of high school requirements, student performance, and extra-curricular opportunities as relating to college planning. This is a 1 hour session.
In the ninth grade, we meet with the student and family for two (2) 1 hour sessions (generally in the fall and in the spring). We review your grades, extra-curricular opportunities, PSAT/PACT score(s) and courses as relating to college planning.
In the tenth grade, we start the College Planning Program that includes College Planning Sessions, Myers-Briggs Inventory Test, Strong Interest Inventory Test, building a College Profile, recommending SAT/ACT testing schedule and follow-up with college visits. In this year, the student meets for eight (8) 1 hour sessions.
In the eleventh grade, the College Planning Program starts, and the student further defines his/her college choices with evaluation of courses, SAT/ACT testing, extra-curricular activities, college visits and summer opportunities. The student meets for six (6) 1 hour sessions.
In the twelfth grade, the College Planning Program continues, and the student will finalize her college application list, with assistance on the application, essays and any scholarship opportunities while continuing to monitor her grades, SAT/ACT scores, and extra-curricular activities. The student will meet for six (6) 1 hour sessions for guidance and counseling with college search and application verification.
We encourage you to start this process right away, irrespective of which grade your son/daughter is currently in (as long as he/she is at 8th grade or higher). Our program is composed of stand-alone plug-in modules that are designed to work effectively at any stage of your high school life and optimize your chances of success from there onwards. However, once mistakes are made, it takes a lot more effort to rectify them than it takes to prevent them. We suggest that you get in touch with us at the earliest.
Through telephone and video conferencing, we provide consultations for those individuals who live far away, or for some other reasons cannot attend the sessions in person. However, our testing and certain other services require clients to come to our location.
