MEDICAL SCHOOL COUNSELING & APPLICATION PROGRAM

A structured, individualized plan for Med School Admission

  • 10 x 60-minute counseling sessions

  • $3,500 Core program investment

  • 8-12 months Planning through Submission and beyond

Designed for premedical students preparing for an upcoming medical school application cycle, whether taking the MCAT for the first time or considering a second or third attempt.

Program Purpose

The Medical School Counseling & Application Program guides students from an initial applicant assessment to a polished, submission-ready primary (or subsequent) application. Students may begin 8–12 months before the intended application cycle. The session schedule is customized so that MCAT preparation, experience development, narrative writing, recommendations, school selection, and application logistics progress in parallel.

What the Program Is Designed to Accomplish

  • Build a complete applicant profile and identify academic, experiential, and application gaps early enough to address them.

  • Create a deliberate MCAT strategy and make an evidence-based decision about whether a second or third attempt is warranted.

  • Develop a coherent, authentic 'Why Medicine?' narrative supported by specific experiences and reflections.

  • Build and refine the premedical CV, application activity inventory, and Most Meaningful Experience narratives.

  • Plan recommendation letters and institutional committee-letter requirements early.

  • Develop and revise the personal statement before the application system becomes the student's main administrative burden.

  • Create a thoughtful MD/DO school-selection framework based on the student's complete profile, goals, geography, mission fit, and family constraints.

  • Conduct a final quality-control review so the primary application is ready for submission without last-minute scrambling.

MCAT Decision Path

MCAT planning is individualized according to each student’s testing history, academic profile, practice-exam performance, and application timeline. For a first attempt, we assess readiness and select a test date that leaves adequate time for score reporting and application preparation. After an initial score, we evaluate whether a second attempt is likely to improve competitiveness, using section-level results, practice-test trends, and realistic preparation time. A third attempt is considered only when there is a compelling reason and convincing evidence of improvement; repeated testing is never an automatic recommendation. The plan also accounts for MCAT attempt limits, school-specific score policies, and the timing of score release. Throughout, personal statement, activities, recommendations, and school research continue in parallel so the primary application stays on schedule.

What the Student Will Need to Provide

  • Transcript(s), current course information, and prerequisite history.

  • MCAT score report(s), practice-test trends, and retake schedule.

  • Current resume/CV and a complete inventory of activities, dates, hours, roles, and contacts.

  • Reflection notes and specific stories from clinical, service, research, leadership, employment, and other meaningful experiences.

  • Personal statement and activity drafts according to the agreed internal deadlines.

  • School research and preference information needed to build a balanced application strategy.

Parent Role

The student's application voice and decisions remain the student's own. Parent participation is most useful for establishing practical constraints and expectations—such as application budget, geographic preferences, relocation considerations, gap-year planning, and MD/DO openness—and for supporting adherence to the agreed timeline. The first session may include the parent for the opening portion to align goals and logistics.

Optional Phase II: Application Cycle Support

After the primary application is submitted, the student's needs change. The optional Application Cycle Support package provides six additional 60-minute sessions that may be used flexibly for secondary-application strategy and review, traditional interview preparation, MMI preparation, mock interviews, application-cycle decision making, and waitlist/continued-interest strategy.

Investment: $1,800 for 6 sessions. Additional individual sessions beyond the package are $350 per 60-minute session.

Because the volume of secondary essays varies dramatically by applicant and number of schools, this package is counseling-session based and does not include unlimited outside-session essay editing.

A Flexible Plan, Built Around the Student

Strong medical school applications are built over time, not assembled in the final weeks before submission. Whether a student enrolls 8, 10, or 12 months before the application cycle, HHG2C adapts the pacing of the same 10-session framework to the student’s starting point, MCAT needs, and existing experiences. Our goal is a thoughtful, authentic, well-organized primary application—supported by clear milestones, timely feedback, and a realistic submission strategy. The program provides structured guidance and accountability while keeping the student’s own voice, judgment, and growth at the center of the process.
